The substance is a known allergen.

Asthma-Allergy Denmark only allows Chlorhexidine digluconate in products where it is estimated that the disinfectant function of the product cannot be avoided. Chlorhexidine digluconate is not permitted in products for general use.

The ingredient can in high concentrations cause eye irritation. However we do require that the total concentration of irritants is low and we conduct an individual assessment of the product considering the use and the amount of the ingredient that the consumer will be exposed to. Ingredients that can irritate the eyes are therefore allowed in products certified by Asthma Allergy Nordic.
