The substance is one of the 26 mandatory to label fragrances which according to regulations should be stated on the product packaging when certain concentrations are present in products. The 26 fragrances are substances which a lot of people are allergic to. This may be due to the fact that they are highly allergenic or because they are used frequently.

The substance should be stated on the contents specification label of all leave-on products i.e. products which are meant for staying on the skin if the concentrations are 0.001% in e.g. creams.

The substance should also be stated on the contents specification label of products which are meant to be rinsed out if the concentrations are 0.01% in e.g. shampoo and soaps.

As the substance is a fragrance and due to its allergenic effects it is not allowed in products which have been certified byAsthma-Allergy Denmark.
