The ingredient can in high concentrations irritate skin and eyes. However we do require that the total concentration of irritants is low and we conduct an individual assessment of the product considering the use and the amount of the ingredient that the consumer will be exposed to. Ingredients that can irritate the skin and eyes are therefore allowed in products certified by Asthma Allergy Nordic.

The ingredient can in high concentrations irritate the respiratory tract. Ingredients that can irritate the respiratory tract are allowed in products certified by Asthma Allergy Nordic but we require that the concentration of irritants is low.

For all products certified by Asthma Allergy Nordic we require that the drops must be above a limit in size is spray/pump is used. The exposure for the ingredient depends on how large or small the droplet is. For substances that can irritate the respiratory tract no spray/pump is allowed though.

The ingredient is allowed in products certified by Asthma Allergy Nordic in restricted concentrations depending on the other ingredients product type and use.

The ingredient may originate from a source that is a food allergen subject to declaration. Allergic reactions to food allergens are mostly caused by proteins. Asthma Allergy Nordic requires information on the plant origin of the ingredient. Protein purification is a requirement for this ingredient if the origin is a food allergen.

After purification the ingredient is allowed in products certified by Asthma Allergy Nordic.
