The ingredient can in high concentrations irritate skin and eyes. However we do require that the total concentration of irritants is low and we conduct an individual assessment of the product considering the use and the amount of the ingredient that the consumer will be exposed to. Ingredients that can irritate the skin and eyes are therefore allowed in products certified by Asthma Allergy Nordic.

Cocoamidopropyl Betaine may contain contaminants from the production process. Two of these contaminants may cause allergy. To use cocamidopropyl betaine in products certified by Asthma-Allergy Denmark documentation is needed showing that the substance is free of these allergenic contaminants. If this is the case the substance may be part of products certified by Asthma- Allergy Denmark.
